In Tenerife, the film music festival Fimucité has been held every year for 13 years now. With the orchestral direction of Diego Navarro and the production of Pedro J. Mérida, this event brings together music fans and professionals in the “chicharrera” capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife for a week, with talks, classes and, of course, concerts of the highest level.

Within Fimucité we find the selection for the “Fimucinema” contest, where feature films, short films, documentaries and songs compete to win the award. This year I had the immense luck and pleasure of being chosen as a judge for this year’s edition of Fimucinema, together with my table companions Raquel Toste, Juan José Solana and Alejandro Martín. It has been a wonderful experience!

Among 4 fiction feature films, 4 documentaries and 23 short films, the documentary “Dear Child“, by the composers Zbigniew Preisner and Simon Boswell, the long film “Blizzard of Souls“, by the composer Lolita Ritmanis, the short film “Paper Boats“, by the composer J. M. Quintana Cámara, and the song “Norberta“, by Víctor Ordóñez, were the winners. Also, a special mention was given to Álex Tejedor for his soundtrack for Sergi & Irina. Congratulations to the winners and to all those who participated, the level was spectacular and I really enjoyed the viewings!

I leave you with some pictures of the event for your taste and enjoyment, and we’ll see you again at Fimucité 2021!
